At an auction in Edinburgh, a bottle of Macallan Valerio Adami Scotch Whisky sold for a record figure.
Rare Scotch Whisky
Having been made in 1926 by Macallan, the whisky spent 60 years in the cask. 24 bottles were decorated with pop art labels, 12 designed by Peter Blake and 12 by Valer Adami. This is one of the latter. Another bottle sold earlier this year at an auction in Hong Kong for just over £814,000.

The distillery was founded in 1824 and among the first legally licensed. It’s in the River Spey valley in north-east Scotland. A new striking distillery and visitor centre is open.
